Hello, I'm Kathryn Templeton.

I started to work as a therapist in the 1980's and came to New Haven to intern at the VA Hospital in the National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Center. At the time, I was not prepared for the content that these war veterans would be processing. I was looking for a way to decompress and found yoga and Ayurveda. Since that time, I have been continuing to learn and interconnect these practices to support my mental health and wellness and offer these healing practices to my clients & students. Working in public health clinics, hospitals, and in private practice, I have had the privilege to work with a wide range of clients (children, adults, and couples) and varying cynical diagnoses. The AMHWC program is the result of the collaboration between my clients, my teachers, and myself. These protocols I am sharing are time-tested, applied science interventions that will offer you and your clients the hammock of support that Ayurveda can bring ease & steadiness.

Along with clinical practice, I developed and graduated over 2,800 students in my Ayurvedic Health Counselor certification program. Over the past eight years, I have been sharing Ayurveda and yoga therapy practices with students on Yoga International via programs like Ayurveda 101, Three Wisdom Traditions Wellness Coach program, PolyVagal Theory: Building Resilience, YI AYS, and more. I am also a university professor teaching undergraduate courses in psychology at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT.

The AMHWC program is the confluence of the three rivers of healing; psychology, ayurveda and yoga science which I use in every clinical session. It works. Designed to be user-friendly and cost-effective, this program needs to be shared. Clinical work can be draining, caregivers only go into this field to be of use to others. The Ayurvedic Mental Health and Wellness Coach program is of use.
